Fairfield, Iowa – Since a recent study found that producing vegan meatballs requires 90% less carbon emissions than producing beef meatballs, the PETA cow mascot will be hoof he’ll be downtown tomorrow, the day before Earth Day, to hand out delicious vegan meatballs to passersby.
When: Wednesday, April 21, 18:15
Where: 121W. Broadway Ave. (near the junction with Highway 1), Fairfield
“It’s official – vegan meatballs are 90% better for the environment and 100% kinder for the cows,” says PETA executive vice president Tracy Reiman. “The mascot” cow “from PETA will hum5 people should choose vegan, plant-based foods that protect the planet on Earth Day and every other day. ”
Animals used for food live in squalid, cramped conditions and die in terror in slaughterhouses. PETA’s Earth Day campaign includes billboards and partnerships with over 100 vegan restaurants. The Panel notes that livestock production is depleting fresh water supplies; pollutes groundwater, lakes and rivers; and is a leading cause of ocean dead zones, species extinction and habitat destruction – and by some estimates it produces more greenhouse gas emissions than all of the world’s transportation systems combined.
PETA, whose motto is in part that “the animals are not ours to eat” – opposes arrogance, a worldview focused on human superiority. For more information please visit PETA.org or subscribe to the group on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram…
