New Oxford, Pennsylvania. – PETA places a billboard along a road from Plainville Farms, a New Oxford-based “humane” certified company whose workers kicked and stomped turkeys and, as shown in a new video, were caught by a camera tying four birds together with their snoods. The footage just released also shows one worker sitting on a turkey, riding it and then pushing it with his hips and pretending to rape the animal. The announcement message is that anyone who continues to eat turkey supports such abuses, and the billboard invites viewers to visit PETA.org/Turkeys to see footage in person and understand the case.

“Turkeys are painful and are caring parents and energetic researchers that no one has the right to kick or beat,” says Daphne Nachminovich, PETA’s senior vice president of cruelty investigations. “The humane label is a scam, but PETA is offering free vegan starter kits to help anyone who doesn’t want to endorse this hidden violence.”

A PETA investigator found that crew members deliberately kicked and stomped on turkeys, including those who were sick, injured and unable to walk. One worker pretended to masturbate with a dying bird, and two workers threw chickens at each other like basketball. Workers, without much enthusiasm, tried to break the turkeys’ necks by lifting them by their heads and shaking them up and down repeatedly before being thrown aside, still alive, or thrown on the floor, where they began to convulse, and they were left to die. with severe pain.

In response, Whole Foods removed Plainville Farms products from its shelves and suspended purchases from the company. PETA presented evidence to Pennsylvania State Police, which opened an investigation; urged Plainville Farms to fire violent workers; and called on the Global Animal Partnership to change its certification program to ban labeling that is intended to defraud customers. The group also encouraged Wegmans, Publix and Harris Teeter to review their suppliers and highlight their many vegan options, including vegan turkey slices and roasts.

Broadcast quality videos are available here. PETA, whose motto is in part that “the animals are not ours to eat or otherwise abuse” – opposes arrogance, a worldview focused on human superiority.
