Results: “Munk”, “Pete Davidson”, “Sound of Metal” among the winners of the PETA Oscat

Angels – PETA’s Animals in Film and Television division is hosting its fourth annual competition in the spirit of the awards season. Oscatswhich honors movies and stars who have promoted animal-kindness with props and wardrobe, storylines and special effects in the past year.

Meanwhile, the monkey scene, the monkey did not go to David fincherfrom Munk for using digitally displayed monkeys, elephants and giraffes instead of real wild animals; The best bear that wasn’t there went to Call of nature for innovative use of CGI; as well as Doolittle was commended for “Technique Not Terror” for replacing living animals in 1967 with impressive computer graphics.

Mike White won Best Adapted Screenplay for The one and only Ivan, whose determined idea against bondage was communicated without the use of real wild animals; Waiter’s accusatory speech about killing sensitive cows for hamburgers in I think about ending it all received the Meta Meat-Free Moment award; as well as The Enduring Kimmy Schmidt: Kimmy vs. Reverend received the Best SeaWorld Snark prize for his Blackfish shout out.

“Grab vegan popcorn, call your dog and enjoy the animal-friendly moments in these films,” says PETA Senior Vice President Lisa Lange. “PETA’s Oscats celebrate the clever ways that Hollywood can show compassion for animals on either side of the camera.”

Each winner will receive a framed certificate, and the complete list, which also includes a tribute to PETA buddy Cloris Leachman, is available here.
