Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP) Commissioners are currently reviewing proposed changes to the state’s wolf hunting regulations that, if adopted, would expand on some of the most brutal and vile methods: trap trap, night hunting, as well as using decoys to lure unsuspecting victims into the scope… If the commissioners take this measure, the number of wolves that are allowed to be slaughtered could also be increased. Despite widespread public opposition to the proposed changes, FWP officials are reportedly under pressure from wealthy landowners and large game farms, who seem to think that killing more wolves will cause a dramatic increase in deer and elk populations – the animals that these bloodthirsty hunters also want to kill!
The FWP is accepting public comments on this topic until July 26th, and your vote is urgently needed! Using this form, convince the FWP commissioners to vote against the new wolf hunting rules. Remind them that wolves are a key species without which ecosystems cannot thrive, and that research shows that the presence of wolves has a trickle down effect, increasing the biodiversity of animal and plant species. If you are not a Montana resident, remember that you will not be visiting the state in the future if these rules are in place.
